Journalist
Helen is a well respected journalist with more than 20 years experience on the road and in a live studio.
She’s hosted many hours of rolling, breaking news for Sky, and has reported on a huge range of stories in the field.
As a correspondent for Sky News, she covered everything from the troubles in Northern Ireland, the Fred West murders, and the 7/7 bombings in London, to the Cannes Film Festival and The Oscars!
Helen left school at 17 and got a job as junior reporter on a weekly newspaper in the north. Her passion for journalism began at the age of 14 when she worked Saturdays and school holidays as a tea girl at the evening newspaper in Lincolnshire where her dad worked.
Helen moved to New York in 2000 as GMTV’s US correspondent. She initially went to the states to cover the Bush/Gore election, but ending up staying almost three years and reporting on Timothy McVeigh’s execution; the Winter Olympics at Salt Lake City, and September 11th.
Most recently Helen fronted Five News, and was GMTV’s early morning newsreader.
