Helen Fospero is a familiar face on British TV screens. She’s currently working for ITV hosting Lorraine some Fridays, appearing on This Morning, Daybreak, and featuring on ITV shows like The Ten Mile Menu with Aldo Zilli.

She’s also a regular anchor on BBC Radio Five Live, has hosted the lottery on BBC1, and writes for YOU Magazine.

Helen followed in her dad’s footsteps and trained as a journalist when she left school at 17. After cutting her teeth in newspapers and on Fleet Street, she joined Sky News as a news editor. She went on to report and present rolling news for Sky, often presenting hours of breaking news alone in the studio.

Helen also specialised in showbiz for a few years at Sky, securing exclusives with Sir Paul McCartney. Yoko Ono, Eurythmics, Elton John and many more Hollywood and music stars.

She was poached by GMTV in 1997 to be their entertainment correspondent. She travelled all over the world, and hosted the Oscars in LA. In 2000 Helen went back to news, becoming GMTV’s US correspondent. She lived and worked in New York for more than two years, covering the Bush/Gore election; the Salt Lake City Olympics; the execution of Timothy McVeigh and colour stories from all over the states. She was the only British TV journalist to witness the towers come down on September 11th 2001, and reported on the tragedy and the subsequent war on terror for months afterwards.

Helen returned to Lincolnshire in 2003 to launch a new version of BBC Look North for Greg Dyke, and then came back to London to present for Five News.

Helen met her husband Carl in New York, and the couple now live in London with their two young children – Francesca and Jack.
